I lectured undergraduate biology courses at Iowa State University. One of the advantages and rewards of teaching large classes is the number of students that I can reach and inspire. I strive to engrain an appreciation for nature and a sense of responsibility for the environment in my students. I believe that knowledge is essential to the development of good values, and only when we learn about the wonders of nature and connect with the world we live in, will we appreciate it enough to protect it.
